Burn reconstruction

Burns provoke sever destruction of tissue, which can cause a very high functional and aesthetic impact on the patient and his or her family and social setting.

The therapeutic approach to reconstructing the effects of burns requires an experienced surgeon who dominates all the surgical techniques of plastic surgery and who is totally and absolutely empathetic with the patient since the surgeon-patient relationship will last a lifetime.

Treatments used range from simple techniques, like skin grafts and flaps, to highly-complex ones like microsurgery, regenerative therapy with stem cells and even face and extremity transplants.

It is always fundamental to create an action plan in which the patient’s expectations and problems are adequately managed.

Take into account

It is required in most cases of multiple surgeries, each of them different in time and techniques applied. In these cases the doctor makes an initial assessment and informs the patient of the number of estimated surgeries and the recovery time of each of them.
